Understanding the Science Behind Bile Supplements
Ingredients in Gallavance: Background Information
This page lists the ingredients in Gallavance and gives background information about them. Ingredient background is separate from any claim about the finished product. Gallavance is a dietary supplement.
About the Ingredients
- Ox bile extract: Gallavance Original contains ox bile extract (bovine-derived), which contains bile acids. Gallavance Plant-Based contains no ox bile.
- Phosphatidylcholine (soybean-derived): Phosphatidylcholine is a phospholipid, and about 95% of the phospholipids secreted in bile are phosphatidylcholine (see reference below). Per three-capsule serving, Gallavance Original contains 600 mg, and Gallavance Plant-Based contains 650 mg, of an ingredient standardized to at least 35% phosphatidylcholine. Both Gallavance formulas use soybean-derived phosphatidylcholine and contain soy. Do not use if you have a soy allergy. Sunflower lecithin is a separate ingredient.
- Capsules: Gallavance is supplied in DRcaps® HPMC delayed-release capsules designed to slow capsule opening. We make no claim about where in the body, or how quickly, ingredients are released.
- Botanical extracts: Gallavance contains artichoke, dandelion root and ginger extracts. Amounts are listed in the Supplement Facts panel for each product.
